Alumni are pleased to announce that Jerad Daniels '21 and Christopher Minx '19 have been awarded the Eta Kappa Education Fund Scholarship and are being recognized for their achievements both in academics and leadership activities at Missouri State University. Jerad is from Blue Springs, Mo., and is working to earn his bachelor's degree in finance. He maintains a 3.55 cumulative GPA. Jerad participates on the Traditions Council, Missouri State Campus Gardens, and is a SOAR leader on campus (Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration). He is a Distinction in Public Affairs graduate and served as treasurer for Sigma Chi Fraternity. Christopher is from Grain Valley, Mo., and is an actuarial mathematics major with a minor in risk management and insurance. He maintains a 3.92 cumulative GPA. Christopher is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is also a delegate to MSU's Interfraternity Council. I n November, Eta Kappa will be hosting our first leadership training workshop at the Missouri State campus. Alumnus Greg Pontious '86 and Faculty Advisor Darren Wienberg are taking the lead in organizing the event. Sigma Chi Headquarters staff will be on hand to lead breakout sessions that will focus on ritual history, recruitment, fraternity life, new member education and more. is will be a great way for alumni to learn about the active chapter and Sigma Chi on a national level. Other subjects for discussion include the status of the chapter on campus, alumni perspective of Missouri State and Sigma Chi, active members leveraging Sigma Chi for career pursuits, and presentations from the Eta Kappa Education Fund Board and House Corporation Board. Closing the session will be a combined meeting of actives and alumni covering a range of topics. Greg provided the board with a preliminary schedule for the two-day event. A casino- themed social event will take place at the chapter house on the evening of Friday, November 15. is will be an alcohol-free event in keeping with the MSU and chapter provisions of maintaining a dry house. We want to encourage alumni particpation in this workshop to show the leadership strength behind the chapter and the opportunity to interact with the current Eta Kappa members. ere will be subjects just for alumni to learn about the new fraternity system and how they can help build Eta Kappa.
