For him, the most important thing was that he finally found the fraternity that he was most comfortable with in Theta Chi during the spring of 2015. "Before joining Theta Chi, I got a good glimpse into what other brotherhoods were like," Drew said. "Theta Chi was the only house that gave me a trustworthy vibe in the sense that what they promoted during recruitment week—broth- erhood, involvement, leadership, scholar- ship excellence, etc.—was not a front and it was indeed a culture that was embedded into the brotherhood. All I knew is that I wanted to be a part of it." From the spring 2015 class retreat, trips with his brothers to New Orleans and Nashville as an upperclassman, and many memories in between, Theta Chi became a huge part of Drew's life. Drew learned a lot about himself during his term as Tau Chapter's treasurer and was appreciative of how the entire brotherhood was supportive of him. "It truly engrained in me the importance of teamwork. Nothing of true value ever got done in the house unless brothers had the urge to put other people's needs above their own," Drew said. "Ultimately, I learned how to not care about position titles or how old I was and understood what my personal talents were and how they could fit in the bigger picture of making Theta Chi the best fraternity on campus." After graduating from the University of Florida last spring, Drew is adjusting to life in the real world as a solutions engineer for NetApp in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. Drew described his brief time with NetApp as nothing short of amazing. Along with earning a degree in industrial engineering and joining Theta Chi, Drew's UF experience included be- ing a member of the club soccer team, Florida Blue Key, Student Government Produc- tions, Gator Growl, and Gators Going Green. For the underclassmen and new members of Tau Chapter, Drew recom- mends not only getting involved with other activities at UF but hanging out around older members of the Chapter to develop good habits. "As a fifth-year graduate, it's easy to sit back and say that maybe you would rather had all of the money in your pocket that you spent on the fraternity," he said, "but I can honestly say that the lessons I learned in Theta Chi will be with me forever and that if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have done it any other way."
