PAGE 2 TAU TOPICS W hen Graham Glover '92 first met Karl Kocher '89, Marc Meisel '89, and Josh Weingard '91 at the Theta Chi Chapter House, he was blown away by the great first impression they left of Tau Chapter. Karl, Marc, Josh, and several other brothers stayed true to Theta Chi's motto of "extending an assisting hand" to Graham. In each of the positions Graham has served in since graduating from the University of Florida, he has also lived out Theta Chi's motto. Graham serves an Active Duty Army Chaplain and is currently the Government Affairs Officer for Chief of Chaplains at the Pentagon. He previously served as a Battalion Chaplain for 10 years and was assigned to operational units all over the world, including Iraq, Germany, and Hawaii. "For the first time in my career, I work for chaplains instead of commanders," Graham said. "Working at a building of 25,000 people is a little different." Graham also put his religion degree from UF to good use by serving as a Lutheran pastor. The importance of serving God, his country, and community was in- stilled in Graham during his youth, and he was thrilled to befriend many other men like him in the Theta Chi brotherhood. "Theta Chi wasn't just about having a good time and being politically active. There was a very strong service component there with the greater Greek com- munity on campus and our Chapter's strong commit- ment to being part of the National Chapter as well," Graham said. "Everywhere I've gone and everything "Everywhere I've gone and everything I've done, service just permeates everything. I don't know any better." I've done, service just permeates everything. I don't know any better." The past few months have been busy but exciting for Graham. In May, Graham's family bought a home in Gainesville. His wife, Alison, and children, Hannah Grace and Graham Jr. "Gray," moved into the new Glover residence in July while Graham continues his duties at the Pentagon. Once Graham moves to Gainesville full time, he's looking forward to regularly attending his children's activities and Gator athletic events. The move back to the Sunshine State will also bring Graham closer to many of his Tau Chapter brothers who still live in or nearby Gainesville. This fall, Graham is heading to New Orleans and Baton Rouge with George Kramer '96 and Clay Sweger '97 for UF's game against LSU. Graham hopes that the strong friendships he has with his brothers will serve as an example to Tau Chapter undergraduates of how special Theta Chi can be. "Maintain those friendships and that brotherhood that you have with the Chapter and to continue to lean on advice from your brothers," Graham said. "They will remain your best friends and closest confidants for the rest of your life in ways that you can't even begin to imagine now. They will have a profound impact on everything that you do."
