City Uses Arts Council Grant to Support All-American City Jazz Festival The All-American City Jazz Festival is receiving a $7,500 Project Support Grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. The All-American City Jazz Festival is the first City-sponsored event following the Fayetteville Woodpeckers' inaugural season in Segra Stadium. It will be held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 25-27. The All-American City Jazz Festival will be presented by the Sandhills Jazz Society and Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council. On Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., the BlackWater Band and the Embers featuring Craig Woolard will perform. On Saturday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m., jazz stars Willie Bradley, Avery Sunshine, Julian Vaughn, Eric Darius and Brian Culbertson will hit the stage. On Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m., local high school and college jazz students will honor legends of the same genre with musical performances. "The Arts Council is pleased to partner with the City of Fayetteville in support of the All-American City Jazz Festival," says Greg Weber, President and CEO of the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. "Project Support Grants for 2019-20 will help fund 26 projects facilitated by 19 nonprofit organizations. These projects help strengthen our communities through festivals and concerts, youth education programs, art exhibitions and workshops and more." Project Support Grants increase opportunities for access to arts, science, cultural and historical programming in Cumberland County. The grants are awarded to nonprofit agencies in Cumberland County that demonstrate financial and administrative stability. For tickets, log onto www.sandhillsjazz.com/events. The E-newsletter keeps residents informed of what the City is doing to support them. It is published to subscribers every two weeks on a Mondays. Download the City's Mobile App On Your Smartphone The City of Fayetteville's mobile app helps residents access City-related information in a very user-friendly format using their smart phones. The app is tied directly to the City's mobile-friendly website, FayettevilleNC.gov. This is the next step in the process of helping residents more easily find the information they need to connect with their City. Residents are encouraged to download the app, titled Fayetteville NC, which is available for free in the Apple App Store for iPhones and Google Play for Android devices.
