PREP RALLY: THE LIST
JUNIOR LINEBACKER
SCHOOL Bentonville
HEIGHT 6-0
WEIGHT 215
THE NUMBERS An all-state selection who compiled 80 tackles last sea-
son, as well as four tackles for loss and a quarterback sack. … Has
already drawn interest from colleges such as Bowling Green,
Tulsa, Louisiana-Monroe and Alabama-Birmingham. …
Saw limited time in the offensive backfield, where he had
eight carries for 51 yards and a 24-yard pass reception,
but he was mostly a blocking back. Bentonville coach
Jody Grant, however, said Joyce could be a featured
running back if not for his value to the Tigers'
defense. … Runs sprints on the Tigers' track
team.
HE SAID IT "I think knowing the game
more and knowing how to handle the
fast pace and handle the crowd will
help me more. I think the sopho
-
more season went well, but there's
a lot to improve on, like being
able to complete more tackles. We
worked a lot on tackling during the
offseason and going from side to
side. I also went into track during the off-
season and that helped me out with my speed.
I definitely prefer linebacker because it's in my blood —
like that's my position. I kept doing speed drills, and my
weight gradually went up with it."
