Sigma Chi Scholarships I n addition to the needs-based scholarships offered, there are also the following scholar- ship opportunities: The Alpha Xi Scholarship Fund The Alpha Xi Chapter is very fortunate to have a scholarship fund that awards members each se- mester. Founded in 1960, the fund has grown and become one of Alpha Xi's outstanding achieve- ments at KU––a strong incentive for scholastic achievement by undergraduate members of the chapter. The fund is managed and administered by KU Endowment. In recent years, income from the fund has ranged from $20,000-25,000. Income is transferred for distribution semiannu- ally (for the fall and spring semester) and awards are handed out at a scholarship dinner. To re- ceive an award, members must earn a 3.25 GPA or better while taking at least 14 hours of college credit. In addition, eligibility requires attendance at chapter meetings, involvement in at least one campus activity, and meeting community service hour requirements. Sigma Chi Foundation Scholarships The level of alumni giving to the general frater- nity has elevated Alpha Xi to Bell Chapter status. As a Bell Chapter, our members are guaranteed slots in leadership training programs, as well as academic scholarships. Each year, two $1,000 scholarships are provided to Alpha Xi members. These scholarships are awarded based upon scholastic achievement and financial need. Loyally, Larry Winter '77 Alpha Xi Chapter Advisor kuedgar@yahoo.com ALPHA XI page 2 D.
