Main - Quartzsite (one block east of Family Dollar) The Town Council of Quartzsite is now accepting applications from Quartzsite residents for consideration of appointment to two impend- ing vacant Town Council positions. You can pick up your application for Council position at the front counter of Town Hall, 465 N. Plymouth Ave., Quartzsite, AZ 85346. The Council will start reviewing complete applications of potential can- didates on May 31, 2019 and possibly select one or more applicants for interviews for the Council appointment. A Special Meeting will be held on June 4, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. for interview and possible appointments. Council vacancies will remain open until fi lled. Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 9-235, the Council shall fi ll a va- cancy until the next regularly scheduled Council election as the vacancy occurs more than thirty days before the nomination petition deadline. Qualifi cations for Council appointment are found in Arizona Revised Stat- utes, A.R.S. §9-232(A), which states in pertinent part the following: "A. A person shall not be a member of a city or town council unless, at the time of the election [appointment], the person is eighteen years old, is a qualifi ed elector residing within the city or town at the time of the election [appointment], and has resided in the city or town for one year next pre- ceding the election [appointment], . . ." All complete applications shall be submitted to the Quartzsite Town Clerk and will be accepted until two (2) positions are fi lled.
