PI KAPPA ALPHA • UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS • SPRING 2019 W e are pleased to report the Campaign Committee is finishing the permitting process with the City of Austin, and a farewell to the house event is scheduled for June 1. See page 6 for more details. Beta Mu Building Co. President Bert Dement '66 says, "After more than 65 years of good memories at 2400 Leon, the Beta Mu Chapter will continue as a strong and positive influence on the UT campus. The new house will function well for the foreseeable future, and we're excited for the continued success of our brothers. We wish them the same great fraternity experience that we shared." In order to be in the best financial position possible before construction begins, we need to accelerate our cash on hand. Cash flow will dictate how much we draw on our line of credit this summer, and we are striving to keep the borrowed amount to a minimum. That's where you come in. Gifts to the Beta Mu Building Company, which are not restricted, go straight to construction and will have a significant impact on lowering the project cost. If you are already among our list of donors on pages 2-3, we sincerely hope you will match your original gift through an additional contribution or consider paying on your pledge earlier than scheduled. To those who have yet to give, now is the time to add your name to our donor list! All donors who pledge $5,000 or more will be recognized on our permanent donor plaque, but any contribution you make has the potential to help us begin construction in June. Consider finding the name of a brother you know on the donor list and match his gift with a one-time contribution, or join with members of your pledge class in a group gift. This is an extremely important time for Beta Mu—beginning construction in June will poise us to have all stages of the construction done and the chapter house ready for occupancy next fall. The new house will be a reality and we hope all alumni can see the incredible potential this provides our chapter. Please consider your role in the campaign and in this challenge. We need you to be a part of this campaign and secure your place on our donor list. Donate TODAY by using the enclosed pledge card or give online at www. texaspike.com. Yours in phi phi ka, John A.
