Finding the Next Generation of Phi Tau On February 10, we welcomed nine members into our brotherhood. This semester, we are excited to welcome six new associates to Phi Kappa Tau. But we are not stopping there. Our co-director of recruitment, Will Russell '18, has been busy preparing for recruitment events for the summer and the fall on the coast, in Jack- son, Mississippi, and in Memphis, Tennessee. Our goal for recruitment this semester is to find young men that care about academics, are pas- sionate about campus involvement, and who will contribute to the deep, pursuing relationships within our brotherhood. Alpha Chi is in the process of rebuilding our chapter. We are determined to have better ac- countability for grades this semester. The execu- tive council's goal is the have the highest frater- nity GPA for the spring semester. Along with our academic focus, we are planning on having more brotherhood events this semester and focusing on philanthropy. Alpha Chi Chapter would like to thank the alumni for their support! Alumni are more than welcome to stop by the house anytime. Fraternally, Andrew Mehta '17, President (850) 776-8037 andmehta@icloud.com A L P H A C H I C H A P T E R 3 W ith the start of the spring 2019 semester underway, we are looking forward to an even better semester than last year. The fall was not our strongest academic effort, but this year our scholarship chairman, Hayden Anderson '18, has expressed high aspirations for all of the brothers and for the academic future of Alpha Chi. This semester, we are going to focus on ac- ademic accountability and rewarding our high- est-achieving brothers. We are currently seeking potential benefactors to finance a scholarship for our future scholars. $5,800 Raised and 350 Community Service Hours This past fall, the chapter hosted its annual Haunted Trail philanthropy event in October on Brother Dennis Daniels' '90 land. Everyone in attendance had a blast. The event raised over $5,000 for the Serious Fun Camp. Along with our successful fundraising event, we averaged over five hours of community service per member this past semester, and we hope to continue giving back to our communi- ty. The weekend before MLK Jr. Day, some of the members volunteered for the MLK Day of Service. These members went to J.L. King Park and helped with park maintenance, raking leaves and picking up trash around the park. It was a rewarding experience.
