Price, Superintendent Quartzsite School District #4 Open Letter to Calif. governor Dear Governor Schwarzenegger I have heard that you and others in Calif. want to boycott Arizona because of the new immigration law. I would like to remind you that you the huge financial drain on the state of California’s resources due to the “ille- gal” immigrants. You and others might want to reconsider your position. are a “LEGAL” immigrant. You went through the process and became a citizen and obeyed the laws of this fair land. I am certain that you are aware of which I sincerely hope you will not, then perhaps the state of California will need to find a new dumping place for all of the sludge that is currently shipped to Arizona every year. That is right, keep your own waste in your State and see how long it takes for the toilets to back up. That’s right from now on Arizona re- fuses to be California’s toilet!! Hal Davidson Quartzsite AZ Volunteers needed What a shame, when winter visitors leave, so do all our volunteers. Residents that are here year round and use the services that are staffed by volunteers and used primarily by them (permanent residents) don’t seem to come forward and help. What a shame we depend on the winter visitors to serve us and then some of our permanent residents are unkind to them. The same few people work at many of the same places. How about some others stepping up to help? Drop by any of the following organiza- tions to lend a helping hand. We want to thank everyone for their visits to the house, the beautiful cards and all of the wonderful food brought over in remembrance of Dad. We want to especially say thank you to Alex Taft for the words that she wrote in the me- morial for Dad. They really touched our hearts and described many wonderful things about Dad. Dad and Mom got to do many won- derful things in the time he had lived there, from the exploration trips to the many beautiful places around there to learning to make beautiful silver jew- elry and take photo shop classes. All of these things were done with many wonderful friends. It is quite apparent why Dad and Mom loved the desert and especially Quartzsite.
