On the fun side, we hope you enjoyed Bikes & Barbecue at Fort Bragg Harley- Davidson, brought to you by On-After Sports Bar & Grub. This event was full of even more vendors, Fowler's BBQ, music, a kids zone hosted by Manna Church and of course tons of motorcycles! Martinis & Mistletoe, presented by Two Men and a Truck, crowned a new "Best Martini in Fayetteville" the Holiday Magic martini from The Traveling Bartender who also walked away with the prize for Best Decorated Bar. The 2018 event was hosted in a new venue, the Cape Fear Botanical Garden with added features like an Amateur Competition. Fayetteville Young Professionals won Best Amateur Martini with the Cranberry Christmas Crush and Avon By Asher won Best Decorated Bar. Both events - Bikes & BBQ and Martinis & Mistletoe will be back this year, with more "twists." We honored 40 public safety personnel at our inaugural Valor Awards hosted at Manna Church and presented by Highland Construction and Restoration. Their acts of heroism will again be recognized in 2019 – and we are hoping to fill Manna Church to capacity on June 25! At our State of the Community we heard about the resilience of the city, county, its towns and Fort Bragg as we repaired the damages of Hurricane Florence. And our guests learned more about the plans these localities have for the future, and what's new on the economic development front. This year, the event will be held in April, with the same valuable updates. Our Annual Awards Banquet will be March 1 with a brand new format to better highlight the achievements of nominees and our award winners. A new partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College will offer up, a three-part series covering important human resource issues faced by small business – these will run February, March and April. The Chamber will also host the inaugural class for the Inmates to Entrepreneurs program which helps those formerly incarcerated to start new ventures. All these will of course be in addition to our standing monthly and bi-monthly events. 2018 was a highly impactful year, operating under the theme 'Gaining Momentum.' 2019 will be the 'Year of the Member' as we take a fresh look at how the Chamber adds value to its membership. There's not enough room to run down our full set of offerings, so please check out our calendar at www.faybiz.com and make plans to join us. GREATER FAYET TEVILLE CHAMBER PLANS FOR THE NEW YEAR
