Without a doubt, The Traveling Bartender has "The Best Martini In Fayetteville" for 2018 – a creamy Holiday Magic martini topped with whipped cream and sprinkles! The team was crowned with top honors on Friday, December 7, at the Greater Fayetteville Chamber's Martinis & Mistletoe, martini competition. The event which was presented by Two Men & A Truck, featured fourteen area bars and restaurants mixing up their best martini, for a people's choice vote. The competition which was in its second staging was hosted at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens against the backdrop of holiday lights. "In addition to competing for the Bet Martini, our mixologists also wowed attendees by decorating their bars – either for the holidays, or in keeping with the theme of their martini entry," said Christine Michaels, Chamber President & CEO. The Traveling Bartender came out on top in that competition as well edging out fierce competition from other bars like Anstead's Tobacco Company, Huske Hardware and Carrabba's Italian Grill. Michaels who has produced this event in other areas, was not surprised that it has become one of the Chamber's most popular events of the year. That's beacuse its an opportunity to treat employees and customers to a cocktail party where their taste buds really count! The 2018 competition also saw amateur bartenders going head to head. The Fayetteville Young Professionals' Cranberry Christmas Crush was voted best amateur martini while Avon By Asher's bar was voted best decorated. Martinis and Mistletoe featured martini sampling sponsored by Social House Vodka, Christmas photos, courtesy of Sherri's Crowning Glory, entertainment and lighting courtesy of Five Star Entertainment and NTE Energy, along with a dessert bar and a coffee bar courtesy of Sweet Boutique Bakery and Le Bleu respectively. The winning bars were sponsored by H&H Homes and PT Financial. Other sponsors included The Linen Loft, Highland Paving, Jerome Scott The Insurance Guy, The Crown Complex, The UPS Store, Black's Tire, On Point Realty, and A-1 Supply Company.
