The application window closes Thursday, Dec. 6 and applicants will be notified of their acceptance by close of business on Friday, Dec. 7. Residents will interact with department directors and staff of each department and engage in hands-on learning activities that familiarizes them with the functions of the departments. Lunch will be provided and residents are asked to dress appropriately for the weather in business casual attire. There will be walking involved and residents will be asked to climb stairs, as well. Students will also be filmed by Corporate Communications staff, who will air footage of the class on FayTV and City social media webpages. As a reminder, this Citizens Academy class is a one-day session that allows for more residents to attend the quarterly sessions. This new format differs from the previous seven-week nightly Citizens Academy held in years past where residents attended all sessions. Parks & Recreation Awarded Adaptive Sports Program Grant Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation has been awarded a $15,000 Adaptive Sports Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
