PAge 5 Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma A lpha Omega kicked off the semester with an amazing work week and recruitment week, where we grew closer as sisters and had the opportunity to meet over 1,700 PNMs. We spent these two weeks at the Pi Kappa Alpha house on Arkansas Avenue, not far from our house lot! With the help of the recruitment team, alumnae sisters, Panhellenic sisters and amazing ΔΓ parents, our two weeks were filled with fun surprises (dance parties, snow cone trucks and tons of cookie cakes!). WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS At the Greek Theater on Bid Day, Alpha Omega welcomed 174 new members into our sisterhood. We hosted our '70s-inspired Bid Day celebration at The Inn at Carnall Hall, right across the street from where our house is being built! Our celebration included face painting, caricatures and an inflatable slide. Active members and alumnae also had the opportunity to sign their name on a steel beam that is being used at our new home! SISTERHOOD GROWS STRONGER Alpha Omega held "Do Good" Week from September 10–14, where we raised awareness for Service for Sight. On Saturday, September 22, the new members had a retreat where the women got to know each other on a more in-depth level. They participated in activities such as the "Cross the Line" activity and "What Represents You," where women brought an item that signifies their time thus far in Delta Gamma or an item they wished would represent their time (friendship bracelets, anchors, etc.). The big/little reveal followed this event at the Arkansas Union, where bigs, grand bigs and great-grand bigs gathered for an incredible celebration with endless themes, boxes and outfits. LOOKING AHEAD Alpha Omega is very excited for an upcoming sisterhood event with our Panhellenic sister sororities for the semester: Chi Omega and Zeta Tau Alpha! We were recently paired with Sigma Nu and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. for Homecoming. Our Homecoming lawn decorations were on display at the Sigma Nu house October 19, and members of all of our organizations walked in the Homecoming parade that night followed by the Homecoming pep rally. Additionally, we will paint the TIFO banner for the LSU football game (Saturday, November 10) with Chi Omega, so be on the lookout for that!
