These people hail from Idaho, Min- nesota and Arizona, who "sunbird" it and go north during the summer. Ranging in age from 60-92, one of these fi ddlers has been playing since 1940. Their music is not only a fun hob- by for these folks, but it is also a way of life. During the winter months they travel from one musical event to another; be it a get-together with friends, a fi ddle show such as this one, or a full-fl edged fi ddle contest, they are always looking forward to the next event. The musicians are like a big happy family and it's a "family reunion" each time they get together, wheth- er it's once a week or once a year. Be prepared for some great fi d- dling and singing! There's probably some of these tunes and songs that you haven't heard for years and years, so come on down and enjoy the music. They will be playing at Quartzsite Town Park 9:15am and also 3pm on the stage. Cameras and record- ers welcome! Please feel free to tap your foot, clap your hands or even get up and dance. "We always ap- preciate your applause," said Linda Darland, a long time member of the group.
