Yes. Quartzsite gets very crowded for a few months. Traffi c sucks. We breathe down each other's necks. Can we all simply take a moment and ask ourselves how to be a better human being? If you have a religion, practice what you preach. Here are some simple tips: 1) Smile at a stranger. No really... and don't be a creep about it. That smile might be the one thing that keeps them from jumping off the edge. 2) Don't just point out an issue. Be part of the change. Whining only gets you upset and ticked off... And no one likes to deal with a grumpy gills or grump-i-saurus rex (a funny for those who deal in rocks and fossils). 3) Go outside and take a deep breath (assuming it's not a dust/ Grubstake Social Club & Waterin' Hole will host "Ticket A Cop" Satur- day, November 3rd starting at 2pm on the Patio. For only $5 donation, you will receive a "Ticket" to "issue" to a Quartzsite Police Offi cer, a burger and chips. The event will also include a Classic Car Cruise-In, their famous Raffl es, and there will be T-shirts for sale. The Remnants will perform Live from 4pm - 7pm. It's not heavily pollut- ed in Q, and the desert landscape is pretty breathtaking. 4) Do a good deed for a stranger daily. Maybe take your neighbors trash to the curb for them. If you have leftovers, offer to share. It's little things people. 5) Last one, and this is important. CALL YOUR FAMILY from time to time (yes, even your crazy aunt sally... we all have one, or many in the family tree lol). You never know how many hellos and goodbyes you will get, until one day you will real- ize how long ago your last talk was before they passed, and feel pretty crumby for being distant. Kat Snyder Quartzsite, AZ Branding Iron Art Gallery will be part of the Buck Connors West- ern Days, held Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at the Quartzsite Com- munity Center, 295 E. Chandler from 9 am - 3pm. The Art Show and Sale will feature an Art Gallery setting with original paintings, basketry, and spirit dolls. Joining us in the show will be our Summer Art Students and our area children will be showing off their coloring projects displayed outside on the east side of the building. Purchase raffl e tickets for a chance to win an original painting - there will be many to chose from. Pro- ceeds from the raffl e plus 10% of all sold items at the show will be donated to our community chari- ties. Attendees will be able to vote for your favorite booth. Raffl e win- ners and awards will be announced at 2:30p.m. Just in time for Christmas shop- ping, visit the Branding Iron Mer- cantile. Exclusively prepared by the show artists for your shopping needs. Desert Christmas cards and stamps will be available, along with prints, magnets, and much more. Nothing over $35.
