The department responds to over 1400 calls for service every year. With limited vehicles to respond to these calls or help clear accidents, it was with great pleasure that the department got word that they would be receiving a truck donation thanks to Arizona Puplic Service (APS). The truck be used by Quartzsite Fire Department to expand its inspec- tion and fi re prevention to the Town of Quartzsite and surrounding areas while providing an additional vehicle for offi cial business. "The addition of this vehicle makes a huge impact on the area we service and really allows us to respond to some of the more remote calls we receive", says Assistant Chief Jose Lizarraga. "We are a small department that cov- ers a large region and so we are thankful for this donation from APS so we can continually meet the needs of our community." Charles Molina and Joe Weathersby of APS presented the truck to Assistant Chief Jose Lizarraga back in September and has already been put to action by the department.
