O ver the past few months, Georgia Alpha has been busy executing our spring semester and preparing for the fall. We are especially proud of our inaugural "Pi Phi on the Porch" philanthropy event this past spring, in which we raised both monetary funds for Read > Lead > Achieve and donated thousands of books to Books for Keeps locally. Vice President of Event Planning Kallen Campbell '16 has also been busy organizing Mommy/Daughter weekend, Father/Daughter weekend and unique sisterhood events like surprise King of Pops after chapter. We began this semester with a successful recruitment season, and are extremely excited for all that our New Member class has to offer after meeting each one of them on Bid Day! 3.54 GPA ACHIEVED Pi Beta Phi entered the fall with a 3.54 chapter- wide GPA average! With over 94 percent of our chapter having better than a 3.0 GPA, almost a quarter of our entire chapter on the Dean's List (achieving 3.5-3.99) and almost five percent of the chapter maintaining a 4.0 GPA for the past fall semester, we will continue to offer members study hours, group study events and work to continue to improve our academic standings overall. PNM RETURN RATE AT 92 PERCENT This past recruitment, our philanthropy round was the most successful it has ever been with a 92 percent Potential New Member return rate. Our highest return rates were a significant accomplishment due to the hard work of our recruitment chairmen, Vice President of Philanthropy Regan McGovern '16 and Vice President of Fraternity Development Lindsey Deutsch '16. We welcomed 78 amazing New Members to our lawn at our Full House- themed Bid Day. INVESTED IN SERVING THE COMMUNITY Georgia Alpha is very proud of all of its members who hold leadership positions on UGA's campus. Molly Balderach '16 is serving on UGA Miracle's 2018-2019 Executive Board as the fundraising chairman. Maddie Helmick '16, director of community service for the Panhellenic Council at UGA, is in charge of monthly community outreach events with organizations such as Boys and Girls Club of Athens, Athens Area Humane Society, Extra Special People Inc. and Breaking the Shackles.
