Brittany Feldman '14, a sophomore, tragically lost her life in an automobile accident alongside three of her close friends – two Alpha Chi Omegas and a Tri Delta – on the evening of April 27, 2016. To honor her life, the chapter began "Books for Brittany" last year. GA Alpha has now hosted its second annual "Books for Brittany" book drive. The outreach from the book drive was terrific and the chapter collected an estimated 3,000 books. Books for Keeps will present Pi Beta Phi with a plaque expressing their thanks for our hard work. Brittany's mom, Dawn Feldman, was very helpful and supportive during the process and was the driving force behind the community outreach to collect books. The chapter donates all of the books to Books for Keeps, which is a local nonprofit that helps children in the Athens community who may not have access to books or educational materials during the summer months. Books for Keeps will be presenting us with a plaque to thank Pi Beta Phi. Brittany had a beautiful spirit and great love for Pi Beta Phi. She will forever remain in the minds and hearts of all who knew her. Over 3,000 Books Collected for "Books for Brittany" Chapter Honors the Life of Sister Brittany Feldman '14 with Book Drive Chapter members Julia Lanza '17, Emily Thomann '17 and Lindsay Boyle '17 celebrating at the spring philanthropy event, Pi Phi on the Porch. New Members are excited to call Pi Beta Phi their new home.
