p. 3 Sigma Chi UPCOMING FALL SEMESTER EVENTS Building on Success from the Spring B efore we headed back to Stillwater, a few of our chapter's executive committee members traveled to Bowling Green, Ohio, for this year's BLTW. We set up a plan for the upcoming year and continued improvement of Gamma Delta. GAMMA DELTA ACADEMIC SUCCESS This past spring, Gamma Delta earned a 3.13 GPA, which ranked top 10 at OSU. We also had 16 brothers receive a 4.0 GPA. We had 22 brothers graduate from OSU and join the workforce. We will miss these brothers, but wish them the best as they start a new chapter in their lives. PHILANTHROPY Gamma Delta elected a new philanthropy chairman this past April as we strive to grow and improve our philanthropic activities, on and off of campus. This fall we will be holding the second annual Buckets for Brandon event in honor of our fallen brother, Brandon Cavazos '18. Derby Days will be held, as normal, in the spring. RECRUITMENT We have been hard at work meeting potential new Sigma Chi brothers all across the country. We have officially signed 36 young men to pledge our Fraternity this fall. We look forward to getting to know these young men and seeing what the future at Gamma Delta looks like for them. It is never too early for us to start recruiting the next class, so if you have any recommendations for us, please give their contact information to me or our recruitment chairman, Garrett Griggs '19, at garrett.griggs@okstate.edu. GREEK COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT For Homecoming this year we are paired with the women of Gamma Phi Beta. We are very excited for this pairing and look forward to a successful Homecoming week. For Freshman Follies, we are paired with the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma and we hope to continue our recent success in Greek-wide shows. DAD'S DAY WEEKEND A SUCCESS Our brothers had a fantastic annual Dad's Day golf tournament held on September 7. We also attended a football game as the Cowboys took on South Alabama. Parents Club and Mom Sutton always do a great job of putting on a fun- filled weekend for us and we are very thankful for their help. We are excited for the rest of the semester at Oklahoma State University. I want to take the time to say thank you to all the alumni who make it possible for us to have these opportunities.
