spring 2018 PHI SIGMA KAPPA FRATERNITY AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY Phi Sig Express Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future Coming to an End August 31 B rothers, we are so close to hitting our $1.75 million goal, we can taste it! Thanks to generous additional contributions from several brothers, Susan Kuhn, widow of Don Kuhn '60, and my matching gift, just $6,665 stands between us and our campaign goal! We always have the need to cover additional costs and outfitting the house, your contribution by August 31 will help us move into the new house on time and in good financial shape. To an individual brother, this may sound insurmountable, but when you combine the powers of our 155 donors and the giving potential of our 557 active alumni, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to hit this benchmark. Thanks to the work of many dedicated alumni on the cam- paign committee, chapter advisers, and house corporation board, construction at Delta Triton continues! None of this would have been possible if it weren't for our loyal, en- gaged, and supportive alumni and the success of our capi- tal campaign. The future is bright for Delta Triton. However, we still have one large, immediate challenge to overcome: fully meeting our campaign goal. While the construction progresses, we have incurred debt during the project and need every bit of the $1.75 million to help pay down our debt and expenses. Our campaign has been a monumental success so far and we need to finish strong. Your donation can do many things for Phi Sigma Kappa and we hope to have your support in these final months. Whether you've made a pledge previously or have been waiting on the sidelines, it's time to revisit where you stand with the Delta Triton and think about the kind of difference you want to make. You have until August 31 to add your name to our list of do- nors or increase your gift. Do not miss the opportunity to be a part of this historic project. Your contribution will make a difference. Fraternally, Richard Schleicher '59 Campaign Chairman rls@ajskfc.com Join Us for the House Dedication on Saturday, September 22, at 9:30 a.m. at 302 Waldron D uring his freshman year at Purdue, Frank Mi- cheletti '63 lived at the State Street Courts, where he remembers, "It was like living in a motel; the views were good, but the food was just okay." Frank began his college career as part of the electri- cal engineering honors program and admits that, "I was in over my head in a couple of classes, but I eventually adapted to the giant lecture halls." While living at the State Street Courts, Frank met Paul Smeller '64, the brother that he gives credit to for recruiting him to join Phi Sig. "I found Phi Sig to be a tight-knit, fun bunch of guys, and the food was pretty good." In Frank's opinion, "The best memories of Delta Triton were made during late- night gatherings in the kitchen to finish off leftovers and tell tall tales." "At Phi Sig, I learned to have fun, support my brothers, and at the same time, tend to business," Frank emphasized. As an alumnus, Frank has dou- bled down on his principles and has again "tended to busines," by making a pledge to the Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future campaign. "I like to support projects where the money I donate or the labor I supply will make a real difference. The Frank with his Phi Sig brother, Jim O'Neill 64, and Phi Sig mascot, Thor.
