Thursday, December 20, 2012 ��� Daily News Shea receives highest honor from hospital St. Elizabeth Community Hospital is proud to announce Theodore Shea, M.D. as the 2012 recipient of the Values in Action Physician of the Year Award, the highest honor in the Dignity Health system. This award brings special distinction as the selection is based on nominations from employees, board members, fellow physicians, volunteers and Sisters of Mercy. Based on these nominations, a selection committee chooses a physician who exemplifies the values of the organization, is active in leadership and who exhibits excellent clinical knowledge and skills. Shea was presented the honor during a special gathering held at the hospital last week. Formerly the St. Elizabeth Chief of Staff, he is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology and provides obstetrics and Shae gynecologic services in Red Bluff. He is trained in ultrasonography, obstetrical anesthesia, laparascopic surgery, and hysteroscopy as well as laser. He is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Shea is an avid long distance runner, so when he is not delivering babies or providing care to the women of the North State, he can be seen running long distances and competing in marathons and triathlons.
