When she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma, she was suddenly surrounded by nearly 100 sisters to call her own. Missy was excited to be a part of an organization where she felt at home and would eventually find her truest friends. "I loved being able to walk on campus and see someone I knew at almost any time of the day," she reflects. "I don't think I realized the magnitude of the sisterhood or friendships until much later in life. The bonds I made with the girls truly have lasted 30 years." As Missy looks at her life now and the friends she's surrounded by, she realizes the profound and positive impact her experience in Epsilon Beta has provided for her. When she heard about the Honoring Our Past, Securing the Future of Epsilon Beta Chapter campaign, she knew this was something she wanted to get involved in. "I would say my Kappa experiences were some of the best years of my life. I am thankful I can give to something that helped me become the person I am today." In giving to the campaign, Missy reflects on some of her favorite memories at Epsilon Beta, many of which include being in the chapter house. Having a place to call home for Missy made the sisterhood of Epsilon Beta that much more impactful. "I realized how much KKG was a part of my journey and I'm able to give now. I want all of the girls to have dinners like we did and meetings in the house." The new home for Epsilon Beta will provide those experiences and many more as the chapter will be able to eat and meet as a group in the new house. Missy encourages other alumnae to get involved with the campaign because every donation makes a difference for the future of Epsilon Beta. "Big or little, it doesn't matter. Do it because you're making someone else's memory." Living in Colorado, Missy is able to stay in touch with several of her Kappa sisters and even have a few reunions. "While going through college you don't really realize you are making lifetime friends, but you are. I know they are always there for me. Thirty years later and they're still my people." Missy lives in Aurora, Colo., and has two children: a son who is a freshman at CSU and a daughter who will attend the University of Colorado (and hopefully be a Kappa!). As a family they enjoy fly fishing, jet skiing, and enjoying the outdoors. Missy can be reached at missywiggs@gmail.com.
