2 | Crescent Corner '90s Alumnae Enjoy an Impromptu Reunion This Winter M elinda Morrison Gulick '92 of Arizona, Jennifer Cook Isleib '91 of Kansas, Heather Robinson Laskin '91 of Virginia, and Emily Trout Ellenberger '91 of Texas met in Dallas in January to reminisce, dine at old favorites, and shop. These four joined a dozen '90s alumnae residing in the Dallas area for brunch at Bread Winners Café at NorthPark Center. "I am still talking about our amazing trip," Heather said. "I don't think I have ever laughed that much!" After brunch, a few alumnae toured 3030 Daniel Avenue and visited the collegians during a break in their recruitment preparation. While some chants, terminology, and recruitment schedules may have changed, alumnae discovered that a great deal had remained the same. The week before recruitment still holds tradition of singing songs, conversation practice, and endless laughs with sisters. All of the visiting alumnae served as officers while at SMU. Melinda, who is a communications and public affairs consultant served as Panhellenic president during her time as an undergraduate; Jennifer, who is the vice president of accounting and finance at Essense of Australia and a wedding gown designer, served as a Panhellenic delegate, financial vice president, and house corporation board treasurer; Heather, who is the owner of European Stone Concepts Inc., served as chapter president and is the proud ΓΦΒ mother of Olivia Laskin, Oklahoma City University '17; and Emily, who is the founder and winemaker at Kagan Cellars, served as house manager and ritual chairman. We thank all of our loyal alumnae for joining us to celebrate sisterhood during this reunion. "The friendships formed through Gamma Phi Beta really do last a lifetime. It is almost 24 years after graduation, and my sisters and I come together again like no time at all has passed. These are friendships to be truly cherished," Emily said.
