Natalia Arce '15 from Boerne, Texas, graduated from SMU in
May 2018. She will be moving to New York City to pursue a
master's degree in foreign language education. Afterward,
Natalie plans to work on a doctorate in Hispanic linguistics and
hopes to graduate with departmental distinction for finishing
a yearlong thesis project in Spanish linguistics and pedagogy.
During her time in ΓΦΒ, Natalie held various positions,
including social media chairman, membership vice president
assistant, and membership vice president. Natalie said her time
as membership vice president was one of the most profound
experiences during her college career. "I learned so much through
working with the chapter and with all my sisters about what it truly means
to be a Gamma Phi Beta," Natalie said. "It means to inspire the highest degree of womanhood and
to devote time to the organization that gave me so much in my four years of college." If you would

Blair Betik '15 from Ennis, Texas, graduated from SMU in May
2018. She plans to receive a master of studies degree in classical
archaeology at the University of Oxford and then a doctorate in
history of art at Yale University. During her time in ΓΦΒ, Blair
served as T-shirt chairman, sisterhood chairman, preference
chairman, junior delegate, and vice president of public relations
for SMU's Panhellenic Council. "If it was not for Gamma Phi
Beta, I never would have met my best friends," Blair said. "I
found a support system with these women—a group of people
who challenge and encourage me. I will always look back on my
time as a collegiate with fondness and gratitude." If you would like
to connect with Blair, e-mail her at blairkbetik@gmail.com.

Foreman McClure '80 wrote that a Facebook
group has been made for alumnae who were
initiated between 1979 and 1982 called Gamma
Phi Alpha Xi 1979-1982. It is a closed group of
ladies from this era, and we invite those sisters
to join our group.
Do you have a Facebook group with sisters in
your Alpha Xi era? Let us know by sending an
