Outstanding accOmplishments and Balance in cOllege life Brothers Achieve High Distinction in Academics and Leadership T he Gamma Lambda Chapter continues its legacy of excellent performance. We remain among the best in academics, campus leadership, new member recruitment, sports, and in shows. CHAPTER ACHIEVES SECOND-HIGHEST GPA The brothers of our chapter continue to strive for academic excellence and achieved a GPA of 3.45 with 173 men. An astounding 50 men earned a 4.0, landing them on the President's List, and another 94 brothers were placed on the Dean's List. Once again, Gamma Lambda far outperformed the IFC GPA of 3.15 and the all-men's average of 2.9. A WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST BROTHERS This spring, we welcomed 38 newly initiated brothers of outstanding caliber. These young men placed first in Freshman Follies, boasted a cumulative 3.6 GPA, and 14 of our new brothers had a perfect 4.0. Most importantly, they continue to uphold the reputation of being Men of Principle that our chapter has worked to achieve. GAMMA LAMBDA SWEEPS THE COMPETITION IN SHOWS Paired with the women of Kappa Alpha Theta, our talented freshmen took home the award for first place in Freshman Follies. Other awards for the show included: Best Choreography, Best Vocals, and Best Song Choice. A team of talented directors championed our star cast in this year's Varsity Revue, claiming another victory on the competitive Greek stage. Along with the women of Chi Omega, we dominated the stage, winning first place overall, along with Best Choreography, Best Vocals, Best Male Director (Tucker Feix '18), and Best Male Performer (Levi Bernhardt '18). We paired with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority in Spring Sing and took second place overall in the competition and claimed the award for first place in best ensemble. INTRAMURAL SPORTS Our chapter has a legacy of excellence in athletics. We took home first in intramurals again this year. This marks the 12th year of the past 13 that this award has been ours. BROTHERS PURSUE DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP TRAINING Our chapter intends to send many young men to the John and Nelle Wooden Institute in Oxford, Ohio, to gain necessary leadership training and an advanced knowledge of Beta history. Brothers eagerly anticipate representing Gamma Lambda at the 2018 Beta General Convention located in Norfolk, Virginia, this August. Our membership is extraordinarily grateful for the leadership and guidance provided by our advisors. We would like to thank Jody Vivion '09 for his time as chapter counselor and express our appreciation to Chase Colvin '14 as he steps into that position. On behalf of the Gamma Lambda Chapter, I would like to extend our gratitude to our alumni for your support. We have you to thank for the ability to thrive here in Stillwater. When you find yourself in town, know that you are always welcome to stop by and I encourage you to do so. Our door is always open to visiting alumni.
