BETA ETA DATA 3 Striving for SucceSS Beta Eta Continues Dedication to Philanthropy and Academics L ast year, we won multiple national achievement awards and completed a strong first semester in the new Chapter House, where we recruited one of our largest classes ever. We aim to continue to improve ourselves and proudly represent Tau Kappa Epsilon and the Beta Eta Chapter. This spring our goals are to improve philanthropy and academics. We believe that these characteristics can truly define a fraternity, and are important for maintaining a pristine image on our campus and in our community. BETA ETA RAISES MORE THAN $6,500 FOR ST. JUDE This academic year, we have raised $6,500 for St. Jude, which ranks us 15th out of any Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter nationwide. This is the most money we have raised for St. Jude in several years and it is all thanks to the hard work of Philanthropy Chairman Justin Williams '17, BH1125. If you have any ideas on philanthropy events we can do in the future, please contact him at jdwvgf@mst.edu. A big thanks to Lieutenant Oscar Kemp '17, BH1142 and Missouri S&T University Police for co-sponsoring our trivia night philanthropy event. This philanthropy event was one of the most successful Beta Eta Chapter has ever had. Events such as these only get us closer to our goal to increase our philanthropic contributions. MEMBERS IMPLEMENT NEW ACADEMIC POLICIES Academics has been something our Chapter has been struggling with over the past couple of years. However, we have been taking the steps to improve upon it this semester. We have implemented a new academic policy for our members as well as a new member academic policy that teaches our new members how to successfully transition from high school to college. We are hoping with these new policies in place we will see a new level of success with our academics. THANK YOU, ALUMNI Without the support of our alumni, many of our recent accomplishments would not be possible. The new Chapter House is truly a sight to behold and we invite any alumni, family, and friends to stop by the next time they're in Rolla. Yours in the Bond, Colton Gholson '16, BH1126 ckgt2d@mst.edu (270) 994-4446 More than 71 years ago on March 8, 1947, Beta Eta was founded.
