TAU TALK ALPHA TAU OMEGA AT IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY I t's been 10 years since our last Gamma Up- silon reunion. This August, we will celebrate 110 consecutive years of brotherhood at the Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at Iowa State University. There are only eight other active ATW chapters nationally with a longer consecutive streak. I'm expecting a big turnout, so make your plans to attend today! Our next reunion will be the 125th celebration in 2033. Here's what we have scheduled. For those of you arriving Thursday night looking for a place to meet up with other early arrivals, we are meeting at Olde Main Brewing Company on Main Street in downtown Ames starting at 6 p.m. Unique beers, beverages, and good food are available, or just use as a starting point to meet up with old friends and move on to your old favorite haunts. Friday's activities begin with a golf outing at Coldwater Golf Links starting at 11 a.m. Cart, range balls, and prizes are included. We'll be off the golf course in plenty of time for post-round beverages and maybe a few stories. For the non- golfers, there are plenty of activities available. Walk the campus or check out the campus mu- seums and art galleries. There are several Story County wineries nearby and, of course, there is always shopping; maybe a trip to any of the Des Moines area malls. Friday night, from 6-8 p.m., we will meet at the house for beer, wine, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Meet up with old friends. Make plans for dinner or a night on the town. Look around the house; see how your donations give the men every opportunity to reach their full potential. Saturday you can take a walk around campus, visit some wineries or plan a shopping trip. Saturday's dinner is at Quality Inn and Suites, 2601 E. 13th Street, Ames. Cocktails with cash bar start at 5 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Bill Gardiner '56 will be the featured speaker. A block of rooms is available under Alpha Tau Omega. It is your responsibility to secure accom- modations. School starts August 20 and rooms could be hard to find. If you have trouble finding accommodations, don't forget to try the nearby communities: Boone, Story City, Ankeny, and Des Moines. I look forward to seeing you there!
