(QPD) offi cers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Central Blvd. Offi cers approached the driver, a 28-year old female, informing her of the traffi c violation. The 28-year old female failed to roll her window down as she talked with offi cers about the violation. Offi cers began to smell an odor of marijuana omitting from the vehicle. QPD offi cer Weltha and Canine Wodan were called to assist in the investigation. Canine Wodan, who is trained in narcotics detection, alerted on the vehicle. When offi cers requested that the female exit the vehicle, she rolled her window up and barricaded herself inside the vehicle. Offi cers were able to gain access in the large RV style vehicle where she was then arrested. During the search of the vehicle, several individual packages of marijuana were found along with marijuana wax, several prescription only drugs, and a handgun. La Paz County Narcotics Task Force (NTF) Agents arrived and aided in the investigation and a thorough search was conducted. $7,100 in U. S. currency that was hidden within the van was discovered. During the investigation, with the aid of the License Plate Readers, QPD offi cers were able to track her route from Southern California. The 28- year old female was on her way to Lake Havasu City, AZ and was booked into the La Paz County jail on various drug related charges. 928-916-9812 RV ROOF COATING FREE Estimate Very Reasonable! 1YR FREE Service w/Roof Call Bob (Not a licensed contractor) Grubstake Bar & Grill donations Grubstake Bar and Grill held their 2nd Silent Auction on Friday, April 6th.
