The picnic will be noon to 4 p.m. at Red Bluff River Park. State Senate candidate Lathe Gill will stop by for a meet and greet at 2:30 p.m. Bring your favorite potluck dish, utensils and a chair if you need one. Cinco de Wino Indian Peak Vineyards in Manton has scheduled a Cinco de Wino event at noon Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2. Guests will be able to sample the winery’s new lineup of award winning wines. The Main Event Catering Co. will be selling Mexican food and The Corning Olive Oil Co. will offer samples and sales of olives, oils and nuts. Local jewelry and crafts ven- dors will be on site. Sunsweet Wildflowers On April 24, the 4th annual Sunsweet Tehama Wildflowers 50k, 50k relay and 10k trail runs were held in the BLM Payne’s Creek Recreation area just north of Red Bluff. Classic Beef Cheeseburgers from Confident Cooking with Beef: 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 2 teaspoons steak seasoning blend 4 hamburger buns, split 4 slices cheese (such as cheddar, American, Swiss, Monterey, etc.) 4 lettuce leaves 8 tomato slices Combine ground beef and steak seasoning in large bowl, mixing light- ly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into four 3/4-inch thick patties. Place patties on grid over medi- um, ash-covered coals. Grill uncov- ered, 13-15 minutes to medium (160 F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices, show no pink color, turn- ing occasionally. About 2 minutes before burgers are done, place buns, cut sides down, on grid. Grill until lightly toasted. During last minute of grilling, top each burger with cheese. Walk of Gratitude set during Patriotic Days Red Bluff’s 2nd annual Veterans Appreciation Day and Walk of Gratitude are scheduled for June 12. The downtown event will take place on Wash- ington Street between Oak and Pine streets. A pancake breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. with cer- emonies starting at 8 a.m. The walk starts at around 9:30 a.m. Veterans or friends and family are invited to make posters of tribute to those who have served.
