For the last five years of her life, Emma lived and was cared for at the Murray House, near her birthplace and childhood home. She is survived by her daughters, Amy and Frances; four grandchildren: Mary, James, Thomas, and Margaret; and her great-grandson, Robert. Mary Fitts Bennett '48 entered Chapter Eternal on January 10, 2018. Mary completed her undergraduate degree at Alabama before earning a master's in child development. She was a teacher in Tuscaloosa County, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church and several clubs and organizations, including The Kettledrum, Mardi Gras Club, National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, and Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society. Mary also served as a docent at the Westervelt Warner Museum of American Art. Ann Moore Manderson '89 entered Chapter Eternal on September 11, 2017, as a lifelong Tuscaloosa resident. Ann loved her family, fancied dogs, and always enjoyed visiting with the children in her neighborhood. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Wilbur; her children, Mary and Buddy; and grandchildren Charlie and Tinsley. She will be remembered as an amazing, supportive mother with gracious Southern hospitality and a kind spirit. ALUMNAE NEWS Roberta Richardson Du Teil '40 moved to Bartonsville, Texas, in 1993 to be closer to her children after living in Hawaii for 44 years. She served in the Navy during World War II and celebrated her 96th birthday in January. Roberta has four children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great- grandchildren. Marilyn O'Gwynn Chambliss '54 is the proud grandmother of three Kappa Deltas. Her eldest granddaughter and namesake, Marilyn, is a Kappa Delta alumna from The University of Alabama-South. Her second granddaughter, Caroline, is a KD at Ole Miss and her youngest, Carolyn, is a member of Zeta Chapter in the pledge class of '17. Libby Tate Hall '68 serves on the CAB for the newly installed Theta Rho Chapter of Kappa Delta at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The couple's daughter, Caroline, is an actress in New York City, and their son, Will, graduates from high school in May. After three and a half years of chemotherapy, he is 11 years old and officially cancer free.
