The show will feature an electric set of the new songs followed by a throwback acoustic set. By turns plaintive and playful, Wurst's songs wade into the deep waters of lost love, winding rivers and small-town gossip before setting their lyrical sights on lighter fare. All ages welcomed. Limited seating. shannonwurst.com. $12. ANNA MCCLELLAN — McClellan's voice mixes earnest intensity with nonchalant melancholy on her new album "Yes and No," released Feb. 23. Most of the subject matter deals with loneliness and internal emotional navigation, but often, the songs stray outward and upward — elaborating on the one thing we all cling to: the knowledge that no one is excluded from feeling weird sometimes. McClellan performs at Backspace in Fayetteville with Navy Gangs and Ankle Pop at 9 p.m. March 12. facebook.com/animalfelon. $5. TRISTEN — Nashville indie pop artist Tris- ten returns to Fayette- ville with a show at 8 p.m. March 12 at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayette- ville. Her knack for lashing exceptional melodies to her singularly poetic lyrics shines again in her third album "Sneaker Waves," released last year. Tristen's lush, expertly crafted arrangements win audiences with her powerful stage presence — performances that channel the rock 'n' roll eclecticism of David Bowie and the creative prowess of Dolly Parton. tristen. com. $10-$12.
