Page 3 Beta Sigma Psi T he members of Beta Sigma Psi are ready to tackle another semester at Purdue. There are a significant number of members that will be graduating, so this semester will surely be bittersweet for everyone. Congratulations are in order for Robert Ehlerding '15, Tim Elliott '15, Cody Gatewood '15, Sam Hathaway '15, Ryan Hockemeyer '15, Micah Koeneman '15, Joshua Porter '15, Cole Postell '15, Daniel Scheumann '15, John Sefton '15, Lukas Sipe '15, and Jacob White '15, who will all be given their diplomas this coming May! ACADEMICS UPDATE Beta Sigma Psi continues its trend of being above average for all IFC fraternities on campus. Our fall semester grades showed an improvement, with our term GPA coming out to a 3.05, with cumulative remaining about a 3.1. This trend should keep continuing positively, as our members are taking steps to improve their grades. Ten of our members made semester honors and six made the dean's list. I would also like to congratulate Ryan Hockemeyer '15 for being accepted into the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology for a Ph.D. in plant cellular biology researching plant reproduction. CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT Intramural sports remain a prominent focus for us, and we look forward to another semester of competing. As you may have heard, University Lutheran Church has relocated to the Purdue Exponent building just across from the electrical engineering building. The new sanctuary is beautiful, but it will take some time getting used to for all of us that spent so much time at the old building. You are always welcome to come join us on any Sunday for church. BETA SIGS ABROAD Several members of Beta Sigma Psi will be or are already studying abroad this semester or in May. Kevin Schiff '15 has been in Shanghai, China, since the beginning of January for a full semester of studying abroad. Austin Franz '15 will be spending most of the semester in Australia for classes there. There are also a couple brothers taking "May-mesters" overseas. Nik Kiess '15 will be studying intelligent infrastructure design in Singapore for a few weeks. I will be studying 21st century European transportation, from the United Kingdom to Germany and Austria, immediately following finals week. We are all very excited and very thankful for these opportunities! I would like to thank you all for supporting us. Without the support of alumni like all of you, we would not be able to carry on with this Lutheran community here at Purdue University. We welcome any and all visitors, so please don't hesitate to let us know if you would like to attend events, meetings, church services, or even just stop by the house for a little while for a trip down memory lane.
