Main GENERAL STORE from PAGE 1 The Salvation Army happenings Come in and see this amazing doll that Annette Crandall beautifully dressed. This sweet-faced doll came in with a partial missing leg, and An- nette, age 76, Quartzsite resident, dressed, attached a prosthetic leg, handmade her new shoes, and made a new outfi t that matches the dolls blue eyes. With vision diffi culties, Annette graciously donated this doll to us. Thanks so much for your kindness. Jann Fisher came and saw "her" side- walk last week. We have lots of posi- tive comments for this ongoing park- ing lot improvement project. Some light gravel and the dust will be kept down is the next enhancement. Sec- ondly, we will be moving the handicap parking slots over two slots. This will create a nice resting area with Carol Kelley's bench, Desert Shopper Distri- bution Box, and possible bicycle racks. Wouldn't it be nice to have a couple of large Quartz boulders as accent rocks- we are the Rock Capital of the World! Anyone able to donate large boulders or a bike rack, let us know. Thanks go to the Desert Flyers Re- mote Control Club, specifi cally mem- ber, Huck, who donated a metal shed. Huck's R/C buddies unloaded and set up the shed for us in less than one hour. Amazing team effort. We are grateful. Are you looking for a fun place to be this summer? We are air-conditioned, provide cold water, sometimes we have homemade pies, too, and we have fun. What about being a sum- mertime volunteer at TSA? We really could use a fi x-it person who likes to repair items. We provide all the sup- plies to do the jobs. During the sum- mer months- not sure yet when that will begin- we will be open on Tues- day, Wednesday and Thursdays, 8:00 to 12:00 noon. Choose your own day/ s, times, and area of interest. Stop by and see us for an application. Currently, we are closed each Mon- day. Donations please during open hours, 9:00am to 1:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday. We have a drop off area with donation carts and will help you unload your treasures. A remind- er, we cannot take books/paper that have gotten wet. We do not take mat- tresses, "fat" televisions, older print- ers. We take "what you would give to a friend" ….one's man's junk is fi ne, garbage goes to the transfer station just north of town.
