Travel management is an approach to establishing networks of roads for trav- el and transportation, including areas for both motorized and non-motorized uses. Travel management planning is necessary for designating and provid- ing appropriate access to and across public lands for a variety of uses. The LCR TMP/EA includes the areas of Laguna Mountains, Trigo Moun- tains and Big Maria Mountains, and encompasses the communities of Eh- renberg, Cibola, Blythe, Palo Verde, Yuma and Imperial within Imperial County, California and La Paz and Yuma counties in Arizona. The public may participate by attend- ing an open-house style meeting or by reviewing the information online and submitting comments to the BLM. Public invited to participate in development of Lower Colorado River Travel Management Plan During the two open house-style meetings, maps of the current and potential travel network will be avail- able for review and BLM staff will be available to answer questions and re- ceive comments. The 30-day public scoping period, which begins February 12, is an op- portunity for the public to provide input regarding the travel and trans- portation networks of roads, primi- tive routes and trails on BLM-man- aged public lands in the area.
