Our Proud History
F
or more than 100 years, the indiana gamma
Chapter of sigma alpha epsilon has played an
integral role in the greek experience at indiana Uni-
versity. founded in 1907, our chapter has set itself
apart from other fraternities on campus by producing
members who distinguish themselves as scholars,
athletes, and true gentlemen.
sigma alpha epsilon has shaped men who are lead-
ers in their careers, communities, and at indiana
University, but it is the common bond of our
brotherhood that continues to resonate throughout
all eras. more than anything, brotherhood is what
sets us apart and what we, as alumni, treasure most.
Without this special bond, we would not have been
successful in continuing sigma alpha epsilon's
long tradition of excellence.
indiana gamma Chapter has had several homes in
Bloomington that have facilitated the growth of our
brotherhood. no home of indiana gamma was more
cherished than the Jordan Crest gables, which was
lost to a fire in 1969.
in 2007, our chapter was reborn with the recolonization
of indiana gamma. the chapter was chartered in
2009 and now boasts 89 men. all this has been
achieved without a chapter house to call home.
While this revival has been impressive, we know
that indiana gamma needs a chapter house for long-
term sustainability.
the following pages detail the steps needed to com-
plete the necessary construction of the new indiana
gamma Chapter house. the project will not only
serve the immediate needs of our undergraduate
brothers but will also serve as a gathering place for
our alumni.
