As a young man Ray served in the United States Naval Re- serve, which helped him pursue a degree in me- chanical engineering. This eventually led to his job as safety engineer for GHG, a contractor for NASA, achieving a childhood dream to be part of the space program. He touched many lives with his loving and silly nature and was always will- ing to help out a friend in need. He was a gifted storyteller, a talented cook, and an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals. Cody Haislip '16 got down one knee on top of Peak 8 at Breckenridge Ski Resort and proposed to Taylor Bartram.
