Over the summer, Connor Marmion '19 and Tobie Siu '19 recruited 19 driven young men to join our bonds of brotherhood. This new member class exhibits the values and norms that makes Alpha Theta Delta a high-achieving, yet well-rounded fraternity. Already, this new member class has proven itself to be dedicated to the brotherhood and seeks all it has to offer. With the start of the new academic year, we have recommitted ourselves to achieving academic excellence. Last spring, Chi Psi was able to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.43, rank- ing third among fraternities at the University of Washington. Half of our members made the Dean's List. Our new scholarship chairman, Joey Moran '20, is already taking steps to build upon the success-based culture at Alpha Theta Delta. Brother Moran is setting meetings with each new member to go over their academic goals and create action plans to achieve them. Our scholastic excellence is just part of our balanced lifestyle at the University of Washington. Alpha Theta Delta has a strong history of giving back to the community. This past spring, we held our annual Stuff the Bus philanthropy. This event benefits families in need in Western Washington through the Food Lifeline foundation. Under the lead of Carson Grater '17, Al- pha Theta Delta raised over 22,000 meals for these families. Looking forward, Theta Delta recently elected our Mr. Greek and Anchorman chairman for 2018. During our first Alpha meeting of the year, the brotherhood collectively decided that we could do more to benefit the community. Starting in 2018, each active member must volunteer five hours of his time to a local cause each quarter. We at Alpha Theta Delta want to utilize our manpower to help those in need in our community. The member class of 2014 marks the second group to live within the new annex. This annex is extremely beneficial for the unity and culture of our brotherhood. The upperclassmen frequently talk about the strength of the bond they have already made with the underclassmen. The annex has ushered in a culture of guidance and advice from the seniors of our Alpha. New member educators, Daniel Scheid '18 and Nathan Christie '18, created a mentorship program this fall. Each new member is paired with an upperclassman to help them navigate the moral, intellectual, and social life offered at the Lodge. I speak behalf on the entirety of Alpha Theta Delta when I say we are excited for what the future holds. As we move into the spring, more underclassmen are assuming leadership roles and im- proving the state of Alpha Theta Delta. At the University of Washington, Chi Psi is known as a well-rounded fraternity of genuine young men. We have maintained a tradition of excellence for the last 30 years and are eager to keep this tradition alive.
