The levy limit worksheet is based on A.R.S. 42-17054 and calculates the maxi- mum levy that a taxing authority can set based on last year's assessed valuation, current year's assessed valuation, and new construction within the county. The Assessor's offi ce also provides assessment valuations to other tax- ing authorities within the county that are used to calculate revenue requirements which are pulled from Fiscal Year 2019/2020 approved budgets for each taxing authority. The 2018 La Paz County Assessed Valuation Report will be available on our website by February 10th. We have changed the format to pro- vide more information to the tax- payer. The information includes a percentage change in valuation from last year to the current year, which affects the tax rate required to generate revenue budgeted by a tax- ing authority. This is the fi rst piece of information needed for taxing authorities to begin creating their budgets, which will be approved no later than June 30, 2018 and used to create tax rates for the 2018 tax bills which go out in September. Approximately April or May all taxing authorities will be sched- uling budget meetings. A public meeting will also be held for public comment; this is the time for a tax- payer to participate in things that affect your property tax bills. Phone numbers for each taxing authority affecting your taxes can be found on your 2017 tax bill. As always, feel free to con- tact our offi ce with any questions. You can call our offi ce at (928) 669-6165 Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and we will be hap- py to assist you.
