Lenora Regeon, Sandy Andrea- son and Howard Andreason make beautiful music separately and to- gether. At the Quartzsite Improve- ment Association jam sessions they each sing one song; this will be a whole night of their perfect harmony. Lenora and husband live in Nini- lchik, AK and fly back and forth to Quartzsite for the winters. Lenora was married at 16 years of age, and she and Jim have been married 69 years. Lenora says," I can't get rid of him." Among other things they owned a bicycle shop. Lenore says "The cold brought us down here but the music brings us back." Howard says he sang to the cows while driving a tractor. He could never sing in church because he has "no volume control"; he just has to sing all out. Howard and Sandy worked together for about 15 years but she says, they can't hang curtains together and "don't even think about wall paper." Howard says, "I tell her what to do and she tells me where to go." Howard couldn't resist adding that "at one time Sandy's credit card was stolen but I didn't report it because whoever stole it didn't use it as much as Sandy did." They've been married 38 years and have a "bunch of children." Nine children between them and one "rent-a-kid" that they fostered. This special program will be on February 10, 7 p.m. at Gold Star RV Park just off S. Riggles Road in Quartzsite. By Joanne Winer After many days of filming, in- terviewing, and scanning hundreds of photos from the archives, the process of editing is done, and Paul Winer has a new documentary film that will be coming out at the end of this month or early next month. Pro- duced and edited by filmmaker Jus- tin Bouchard, the film is a 2 1/2 hour story that includes vintage photos of Paul's early life and of his long career as Sweet Pie, which spanned over 50 years (started in the 70s) The film talks about his life and what made him what he is today. Justin was able to take the in- terviews with Paul and use his own words to narrate the film, which includes much of his early life and also his life here in Quartzsite. He talks about his poetry, music, and running a bookstore in a little des- ert town where he has found a place that he can be himself and still make a living. He mentions most of his music heroes who influenced his style of music (there is no other just like him), the famous people he has met, and some he has worked with over his career. Paul also explains his 68 first amendment court cases that he fought and won. Paul shares how he became Sweet Pie, spending 25 years on the road playing to over a million and a half people up and down the east coast and back and forth across Canada, where he met his wife Joanne. The documentary also includes the history of their daughter Celia, and how Celia's Rainbow Gardens was developed after her death in 1994. This very personal look into Paul's life will give you a much better perspec- tive on who and what he is, and it is a once in a lifetime film that you won't want to miss!! Just a note: this film does contain some nudity and strong language! Advance orders for the film are now being taken at Reader's Oa- sis Bookstore. The cost is $20 per DVD. They should be here by the end of February. But if you are leav- ing here before it comes and wish to make an advance order, Paul will take your phone number and name and mail it to you when it gets here. It will also be available for sale in the store and at his concerts once it is here. They are planning a limited edition, so be sure to get yours pre- ordered if you want to make sure to get one of the first order.
