You're invited to come to a gathering of veterans just to relax and talk. Keith Tyree, Navy Submarine veteran, has chat- ted with numerous vets around town and all agree they'd welcome a chance to talk with guys and gals whose ex- perience makes them comrades. The Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA) graciously (and enthusiastical- ly) offered to provide a room. Carol Johnson, award winning baker at the QIA, offered to make cookies. Debbie Andreason, Veteran Ser- vice offi cer, has agreed to attend the fi rst meeting to answer questions about services available to vets. She can provide information on how to enroll for VA Health Care and other benefi ts. She can tell you how to ap- ply for a DD214 if you've lost your military discharge papers. Debbie says, "probably 90% of veterans don't realize the benefi ts they have earned." But be assured: no politics, no pressures, just a smoke-free, al- cohol-free gathering of vets.
