THE CHIMES
Securing Epsilon's Legacy
S
ince our founding in 1915, our house has been an
integral part of Chapter life, a shared symbol of our
tradition at Iowa State, and a welcoming home for our
undergraduate men. Hundreds of young men have had
the fortune of calling 224 Ash home, and we want to
make certain that opportunity remains for the many more
decades of Fraters to come.
Through years of careful study, assessment, and planning,
the Epsilon alumni leadership has developed exciting
plans to conduct a major renovation and expansion of
our Chapter House. In order for Epsilon to attract the
best young men at Iowa State University and compete as
a premier fraternity, we must restore 224 Ash to a first-
class facility and destination within the Greek community
at ISU.
To make this project a reality, the generous and
significant support of every alumnus is needed. We're
honored to announce our campaign, Securing Epsilon's
Legacy. Initial commitments from dedicated Tekes total
more than $3 million. This early support exemplifies
the lifelong importance of our experience as Fraters and
adds to the reason we believe that we can reach our goal
of $4.5 million with your help!
In the coming weeks, you will receive additional
information detailing the house and scholarship project
and the ways in which you can join our efforts. For now,
I hope you will read each element of this very special
Chimes and enjoy the stories of early contributors George
Burnet '42 E-333 and Brent Johnson '79 E-1316. We
have also recognized our other initial supporters on page
2 and are humbled at the thought of you soon adding
your name. As someone who benefited from the legacy
of alumni who came before, I hope that you feel it is our
turn to secure Epsilon's legacy.
Yours in the bond,
