ROCKS!
The Bouse Ghost Riders will host the
February 16-17 Show Me Ride at the
Bouse Community Park. Camping/
staging are available at the park.
The Preacher Pass ride will stage at
9am Saturday, February 17. Donuts
and coffee will be available, provid-
ed by Bouse Chamber of Commerce,
proceeds go the Elementary School.
The ride will be approximately 47
miles and will return to the Com-
munity Park at approximately 4pm.
Please bring a lunch.
We will ride to The Southern Cross
Mine; then on to Preacher Pass.
Preacher Pass is a relatively chal-
lenging ascent, not recommended
for beginners, of over 300 feet in
3/4 mile. There are spectacular
panoramas and interesting desert
vegetation and rock formations. We
will descent to the east into a wash
and follow it to the east side of the
Plomosa Mountains; then north
along the old Stagecoach Road to
remnants from war training in the
area, the "Vicksburg" in rocks-a vi-
sual directional for aircraft; then
proceed north towards Bouse and
view the General Patton's training
camp bivouac site. The ride con-
cludes at Bouse Community Park.
The nearby Ocotillo Restaurant
will have food and entertainment
available until late.
