Emelia Ave. Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD The Wellness Initiative for Senior Education (WISE) Program cel- ebrates healthy aging and educates older adults on a variety of topics. This free program will take place at the Quartzsite Improvement As- sociation (QIA) at 235 E. Ironwood St. beginning on Feb. 5 and is open to anyone 60 or older. This educational program offers six lessons that cover a wide range of topics. Join us for this fun program, where you'll meet new people and: • Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices • Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefi ts that come with it • Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid to stay healthy • Examine how alcohol, prescrip- tion medications and over-the- counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems • Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and healthcare you receive. Free refreshments and lunch will be served at each lesson, and all pro- gram participants will be eligible to receive free giveaways. Classes are held Mondays on Feb. 5, 12 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an hour break for lunch at noon.
