It is with great sadness to say that on Janu- ary 7th 2018 Nathan Boyd, also known as "Nate" passed away at the age of 65 years old. Nate suffered many hardships with various medical issues over the last few years and passed away gracefully from nat- ural causes in a Las Vegas hospital. Nathan was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio and served an enlistment term in the navy and was a Vietnam era veteran. Nate choose the town of Quartzsite as the place to call his home nearly 20 years ago. He developed his career as an award-win- ning cook with the "Cappi" family traveling in the pacifi c northwest with food conces- sions for the last 15 years. Nate had an amazing talent and fl are for cooking the best food money could buy. He retired back into his home of Quartzsite and worked at the local general store as well as con- tinuously volunteering his time cooking at events for the local VFW. Nate had a large following of friends and family he made within the town. He was known as the town teddy bear, town fl irt, and protector of those he loved. He will be missed most of all for his huge heart, big smile and sincere compassion and loyalty for everyone that was apart of his life. Nate will be remembered for his service to this country and the love and bonds he made with his Quartzsite friends and family. Nate will forever be missed but never be forgotten. A memorial service will be held for Nate at Celia's Garden on January 27th 2018 at 4pm to honor the memory of the wonderful kind-hearted soul he truly was. All are welcome to join us in honoring Nate.
