Lambda Chi Alpha | Gamma Upsilon Chapter North Carolina State University | Winter 2018 BUZ GUZ LCA: A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE CONTINUES Alumni Support Needed Now! S ince 2015, Gamma Upsilon has embarked on the LXA: A Legacy of Excellence Continues capital campaign to fulfill our dream of building a new, state-of-the-art Chapter House. For much of 2017, our House Corporation has worked diligently with our architectural design team, University officials, and financial stakeholders to build a new home for the Gamma Upsilon brotherhood—a home that the undergraduate Chapter and alumni can call ours and enjoy for decades to come. Thanks to 121 of our brothers, we have raised $1,862,527 to support the construction of our new home. A heartfelt thank-you goes to everyone who has contributed their time and money to support this campaign. However, there is still more work to be done, and there is a dire need for additional funds and alumni support. Early in December, members of the House Corporation met with a local financial institution and secured financing for our new Chapter House. While this is a huge step in the right direction, it is essential that we gain more in-hand donations as soon as possible to ensure that our recently secured financing can be serviced as we move through construction. If you have pledged and have the capacity, please consider accelerating your donation. If you have not yet pledged, please do so now to help us meet our $2.5 million goal! Major construction of the new home is slated to begin in March, so now is the time to take a leap and make a difference in the lives of our undergraduate brothers and the future of Lambda Chi Alpha at North Carolina State University. We have reached nearly 75% of our goal with only 15.5% participation. The average participation among Greek campaigns is 25%, so we still have much more room for alumni participation and contributions toward our campaign goal. Are you among the 760 active alumni whose names are not yet on our donor list? Our goal is to have the new Chapter House move-in ready for undergraduates in the fall of 2019. As we think about that next milestone, we hope to see at least twice as many names on the donor plaque that will be prominently displayed in the new Chapter House. We remind everyone that each donor who contributes $2,500 or more will be recognized on this prestigious plaque. With major cash outflow occurring in four short months, we need to make one last push to raise additional funds to put Gamma Upsilon on a solid financial foundation. You can help us achieve this goal by making a gift TODAY. Your gift could be the difference in us hitting $2.5 million. We hope that we will have your support in these final months of fundraising. Whether you've made a pledge previously or have been waiting on the sidelines, it's time to revisit where you stand with the Chapter and what difference you want to make in its future. If you've already committed, please consider accelerating your donation or reaching out to a brother whose name you don't see on the donor list. If you made a multiyear pledge to the capital campaign, thank you for your generous pledge. We ask that you please ensure you continue payment on your commitment. It is essential we receive every dollar pledged so Gamma Upsilon can continue to thrive at North Carolina State for years to come. If you have not made a gift yet, don't delay any longer—now is the time to make a difference.
