Corporation Board of Springfield
W
e have an active board with passionate volunteers, and there is
always room for more! The Corporation Board, which owns the
chapter house, is very strong financially and therefore able to maintain
the house well and complete renovations and updates as needed. As
always, we perform a long list of yearly maintenance on the house
during the summer and do many repairs as needed throughout the
year to preserve and ensure the house is available to generations of
sisters to come.
This summer was particularly fun for everyone on the board as we
remodeled the formal living room. The entire room, including the ceiling
and built-in trophy cases, were painted and columns were replaced to
match the entry columns we installed last year during the renovation
of the entry foyer. New carpet was installed, all of the furniture was
reupholstered, and several new pieces were added, including a study
table and chairs.
Upon request by the chapter, we added a daybed swing to the west
porch. The large swing has become a popular spot to study for the
members.
BARBARA DENHAM WARREN GRANT UPDATE
Last year, because our fund is now endowed, we awarded three
sisters in need a total of $1,950. As the grant is intended to be an
emergency fund for sisters in great financial crisis, we take applications
continuously.
