I hope this edition of The Cordelt finds you and yours well and enjoying the nice fall weather we've been having. I'm writing on the heels of an exciting and successful Homecoming, where we saw the launch of a new Beta Omicron website, the approval of two new mentorship programs, and probably the most exciting news, the formation of two capital campaign committees. Homecoming at the Shelter is always a time for brothers past and present to gather, share stories, memories, and just catch up. This year was no exception. I would like to first thank the undergraduates for inviting us back with open arms and for hosting one of the best Homecomings in recent memory. A special thanks to Justin Kim '19, who orchestrated the event flawlessly. This Homecoming also saw the kitchen crew, led by Tim Ray '83 and Sean Riley '83, successfully prepare the often talked about "exploding" chicken Kiev. A big round of applause for such a great meal! REDESIGNED WEBSITE LAUNCHED Our website, www.cornelldelts.org, was completely revamped by Bryan Cuccioli '14 with support from Young Hur '11. The website will continue to grow and change as our needs change and has been designed with this in mind. We also hope that it becomes a favorite in your browsers and that you check in often as updates on events and the chapter are added. The website now serves as a portal to pay dues and make donations, as well as an alumni page where you can view past articles of The Cordelt, search for fellow Beta Omicron Delts in our new searchable database, and sign up to be a mentor. This section of the website is password protected, so when you would like to peruse, please access using 104deltaTau. MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES The annual House Corporation meeting saw the approval of two new mentorship charters that were prepared over the past year by Young Hur '11 and Jason Saltsberg '94. The first of these mentorship programs has been started to create a database of alumni and their field of career expertise that will be accessible to the undergraduates. It is intended that the undergraduates will reach out to alumni whose careers reflect a path the individual undergraduate wishes to pursue, and that communication between the mentors and mentees will be organic and useful for both parties. The second mentorship charter sets out a procedure to create a group of alumni who previously held leadership positions within the chapter who can offer current undergraduate officers additional support as they learn to navigate their new roles. Both mentorship programs are completely voluntary. I encourage you to visit the website, read about the charters and expectations of a mentor, and if so inclined, sign up to help our fellow brothers succeed both as leaders of the chapter and as future members of the working world.
