W e urge your thoughtful consideration of how you will support this exciting project. You are the only one who can place a value on your Chi Omega membership—on the lifelong memories and friendships you made, on the values and principles that were instilled in you, and on the many ways Chi Omega enhanced your college years. Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership of the house corporation is committed to this major undertaking, which will allow us to renovate and reconfigure our chapter house and compete with other sororities and housing options in Madison. MAXIMIZE YOUR IMPACT Because of the magnitude of our objectives, we are urging all alumnae to consider major gifts to the campaign. In order for each alumna to maximize her participation, gifts can be structured over a five-year pledge period. However, early gifts to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Gifts in honor or in memory of other Chi Omegas, as well as family gifts, are welcome. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree. DONOR RECOGNITION Each of us, simply by our presence, has contributed to the history of Nu. How appropriate then that each of our names be entered into its halls. Each donor who contributes $2,500 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque. All donors contributing $1,000 or more to the campaign will be recognized in campaign publications, unless otherwise requested. TAX-DEDUCTIBLE GIFTS Gifts to the campaign are 100% tax deductible through the Chi Omega Foundation. The Internal Revenue Service will allow only exclusively educational space in the house to be funded with tax-deductible dollars that are gifted to the Chi Omega Foundation and designated for the Nu Chapter. We are working to create the maximum educational space in the house. NON-TAX-DEDUCTIBLE GIFTS A significant portion of the project is deemed non-educational, which means there is a need for contributions that are not tax deductible to complete the project with minimal debt placed on the chapter. Therefore, donors are strongly encouraged to consider directing a portion of their gift to the Nu Chapter Housing Board. PAY IT FORWARD Your investment in Nu will directly impact the lives of our current and future members. Today, perhaps more than ever, it is important that we provide young college women with an environment that offers a solid foundation for their education and affords them opportunities for high academic achievement and the development of leadership and social skills. CONTINUING THE TRADITION We recognize that each of us has treasured memories from our time spent at 115 Langdon Street, and because of that, our hope is that there will be an abundance of support for this project. Just as we benefited from the generosity and forethought of those who have gone before us, we plan to do the same for the coming generations of Chi Omega sisters. Please join us in promoting the strength and vitality of Nu Chapter by generously participating in the capital project to renovate 115 Langdon Street. We can do this together! Be a Part of Our Future to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings Nu Chapter awarded Chapter of Excellence by Chi Omega National in 2017
