2 Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta. House" at 1207 will cede way to a "New" Beta House and in two years they will hang your picture on a new wall in a new house and bridge the gap with the past that was ours. In July 2001, during the Gamma Lambda Chapter's darkest hours, through the vision of a few and unfaltering faith in our alumni, the Beta Theta Pi Building Corporation acquired the adjacent property at 1215 W University. With this acquisition, WE own an entire block of frontage on West University and more real property than any other fraternity or sorority owns or will likely ever own at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. It is at this site that we will again build a "New" Beta House that, combined with the unparalleled land, will have an unequaled home for Gamma Lambda Betas for generations to come. After the close of classes in late May 2018, the "Old" Beta House will come down making way for a "New" Beta House. Construction will begin immediately following and is scheduled to be completed by August, 2019. There is much logistical work to be done before May 2018. Loan packets have been prepared and the title work has been completed. Civil engineering and site surveying will begin shortly. We are currently negotiating for the lease of alternative housing for the Gamma Lambda Chapter during the year of construction. We are working with the architect to finalize the design and the preparation of construction drawings. In late January 2018, construction drawings will be complete and our general contractor Ward Construction will put the project out for bidding. By the end of April 2018, contracts will be awarded and construction will begin. In May 2018, the "Old" Beta House will adorn the pages of history alongside "The Old Green Barn" and a new era will begin—again. We may have committed to construction of a "New" Beta House and we have sound processes and programs in place, but that does not mean that our capital campaign has concluded. We have reached the point where the stewards of this project can and have committed to the construction; however, we still need your help in funding the project. Our goal is to limit the amount of financing necessary to build the "New" Beta House. The halls of the "Old" Beta House are filled with young men that proudly wear the badge of Beta and are worthy of our support. We leave you with the words of brother Wile '28 – "We of the older school sired this young colt of a frat and it is now ready to run". Let us help them run. To be continued....
